Southern California foodies, mark your calendars! One of the region’s most beloved culinary events is returning to Temecula Wine Country this summer. On Monday, August 11, 2025, the SoCal Chef Open will light up the stunning grounds of Peltzer Winery with an evening of gourmet bites, live music, and community spirit—all in support of local youth through Oak Grove Center.

Whether you’re a foodie, a wine enthusiast, or someone who simply enjoys giving back while enjoying great company, this is the kind of event that hits every note.
A Night of Flavor, Competition, and Community
This isn’t your average tasting event. The SoCal Chef Open is a high-energy, chef-against-chef culinary showdown, where some of Southern California’s finest chefs go head-to-head, each creating small-plate dishes designed to wow both professional judges and attendees. Guests get to sample every dish, sip local wines, and cast their vote for the coveted People’s Choice Award.
While the chefs compete for bragging rights and a few unique trophies, it’s the guests who come out on top—leaving full, inspired, and satisfied knowing their ticket supports something meaningful.
Meet the Mission Behind the Menu
Hosted annually by Oak Grove Center, this event serves as a major fundraiser for their culinary vocational program, which trains and empowers at-risk youth in the art and business of cooking. From learning knife skills to mastering hospitality service, Oak Grove students gain critical life skills that help them thrive well beyond the kitchen.
You’ll even get a chance to taste creations from some of Oak Grove’s own student chefs, a proud tradition that showcases just how powerful these programs can be when supported by community members like you.
