Murrieta’s 34th Annual Birthday Bash

It’s the perfect summer afternoon in Murrieta, where families spread blankets under swaying palms at California Oaks Sports Park. On Saturday, June 28, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., the city celebrates its 34th birthday with a festive lineup that grows more magical as dusk settles. Admission? Completely free—just bring your sense of fun.

The day kicks off in the Kid Zone, filled with bounce houses, face painting, and games. Around 4:30 p.m., a lively firefighter hose-down cools off the crowd. As evening approaches, the park’s amphitheater comes alive with tribute bands: first ARENA, a Duran Duran homage at 5:00 p.m., then Classic Journey at 7:15 p.m.. Finally, at 9:00 p.m., a breathtaking fireworks show caps off the evening.

Attendees can browse a variety of local vendors, indulge in food trucks, and soak in a warm, communal atmosphere. A friendly reminder from the city: no dogs, alcohol, smoking, or BBQs—this is a smoke-free, kid-safe celebration.
